The location:
Felindre (Velindre on some maps) is a small rural village at the foot of the Black Mountains in the Brecon Beacons National Park just 5 miles from Hay-on-Wye, famous for its books and annual festival. The village has a good public house, providing home cooked food and real ales, village hall, two children's play areas, a village green/sports field and an organic farm outlet, with more facilities at Glasbury (2 miles), including primary school, public houses, shop, post office, restaurant (River Cafe) , etc. There is a secondary school at Three Cocks (2 miles) and further primary schools in Talgarth (3 miles) and Hay (5 miles). Hay offers good market town facilities. The Black Mountain foothills to the south offer superb walking, cycling and horse riding and these can be easily accessed via a number of footpaths and bridleways that run from very close to the property.
